bbcan2, bigbrothercanadaBig Brother Canada 2 was the second season of the Canadian reality tv series, Big Brother. It was based upon the Dutch series of the same name, which gained notoriety in 1999 and 2000. The series was produced by Endemol USA and Insight Productions.

In October 2013, it was confirmed that the house used for the series would be moving to a new location at Showline Studios in Toronto. In February, photos of the new house were released weekly on Fridays, with the photos being teasers of the house under construction. ET Canada gave a tour of the new house on February 24, 2014. House designer Peter Faragher, who also worked on the first season, said that he was inspired by “a modern home at Dufferin St. and St. Clair Ave.” The house featured a total of 85 cameras.

The HouseGuests are competing for a $100,000 grand prize, a $10,000 trip to any where in the world courtesy of Twistos, as well as a $25,000 home makeover from The Brick. The runner-up would receive a $20,000 cash prize.

Each week the HouseGuests competed in an HOH competition to determine the “Head of Household” and in a POV competition to determine the winner of the “Power of Veto.” The HouseGuests also competed in Have-Not competitions, in which the losers were required to eat slop for the rest of the week, as well as sleep in the have-not room. When only two HouseGuests remained, the last seven evicted HouseGuests would form the Jury of 7. (This season, only 6 HouseGuests served on the Jury with the Candian Public serving as the 7th Juror).

The season premiered on March 5, 2014 and ended after 71 days on May 8, 2014, where Jon Pardy was named the winner, and Sabrina Abbate, the runner-up.
